Etna eruption from SE Crater

Dec 1 2023

On the evening of December 1st, an intense paroxysmal eruption occurred from the South East Crater. During the most intense phases, visible from a large part of the Sicilian island, from the Aeolian Islands and from the Calabrian coast, two lava flows descended towards the desert Valle del Bove and another in the opposite direction, South West, on the sides of Monte Frumento supine. This activity was completed within a few hours and is part of the normal phenomena of our volcano. Therefore, there is no danger for inhabited areas, populations and visitors. Current normal situation.
